It's nice to have such a large hard drive that is powered by the USB port instead of having to plug in a separate power adapter into a wall outlet for power.

I bought this to replace a portable hard drive that isn't as accessible as it used to be. I found that transferring data was very easy and the speed is very good.

Within 24 hours, this hard drive completely stopped working. I was finally able to go deep into my computer's settings and clear out this hard drive; however, doing so erased all of the native software on the hard drive. So now, I essentially have a 4TB hard drive that is literally no different than any other hard drive except I don't trust this one in particular anymore; I'll likely not store sensitive or important files on it. I wish I would have known I could have returned it to Best Buy, because I would have. Lesson learned on my part.

This drive I use to back up several other smaller backup drives. Provides more backup safety, peace of mind. You can not have to much backups.

Works as advertised but I did not install the WD software (not needed) so I cant speak to that. Transfer rates seem to be slow but overall the value is great

Like all Western Digital (WD) products, that I've purchased, setup is easy and it works with existing backup Software (WD).

Bought it as a backup drive and it works for that. Good price for a fast portable 4TB drive.

I love this, i use it all of the time for my work.

Of all the Western Digital drives I've bought over 14 years, which I still use today, and never fail, this is the worst external hard drive - because of that stupid file called "System Volume Info". You can't get rid of that file unless you go into CMD admin and Clean and Format the drive. After that process, I ended up just using this external hard drive just for file and video storage for my Windows 7 Ultimate computers and Windows 10 Pro computers. I never turn stuff, I just never buy the Brand Name product again.

I've only had the older, larger version of external hard drive. I like how it doesn't need an a power cord

So far, so good. Nothing else to report. I really wanted an SSD (4stars) but since I don't plan to access this drive much it'll work.

Like the choice of different colors because at a glance I can tell to which computer they were assigned. Good value.
