Decent speed for data transfer. However can really be noticed with large files even when compressed. So if you require large data file transfer routinely then I would recommend a solid slate drive. This product is good for the price of storage space and being a HD disk.

For the price, this WD drive checks a lot of boxes. No you’re not getting SSD speeds, and I still prefer editing video off of internal or SSD, but you get a solid backup drive that is fast enough to use for editing if needed.

I purchased this unit for its size, both physical and storage. With more and more files saved, it became necessary to have a unit with more storage available. I already have two units, both at 1TB, and photos and music, along with documents, end up taking a lot of space. I don't anticipate filling this unit too soon in the future.

Its a great 4tb if you plan on using here and there. If your looking cir everday use I would upgrade the wd and get a higher model. But for me just storing videos and photos it works perfectly

So far I've used once to backup. Biggest issue is to set up the folders for each time I want to back up. I was advised to purchase the 4TB to allow for several backups without overwriting the others. I thought it was kinda expensive, but hadn't used one before and if it prevents me from losing data, then it will be worth it.

I got this portable hard drive because I needed to free up space on my laptop and use it to back up my photos. This device is small, light weight and well built. I was able to transfer 6 GB of photos to it in approximately 1 minutes or less. I am confident this hard drive is built to last and my photos will be safely stored for when I need them.

The external hard drive was delivered to my house very protected. Best Buy made sure the product came secure. The packaging inside added more security ... hard drive was not just sitting in the box alone (I found it in a very secure plastic shell). When I plugged the USB cable to my laptop, everything ran smoothly.

I travel and take a lot of pictures. This drive makes it easy to download my shots from my camera to the drive and keep taking pictures. Its compact and lightweight size makes it easy to throw in my camera bag or my jean's pockets. A must have for any photographer.

It is amazing holds 4tb for my ps5 greatly! I transferred my data to this easily overnight and I haven't run out, I have alot of games so this came in handy and never glitched out.

I like having an HD that I can fit all my files on. Hope it lasts a long time! I've heard that external HDs last about five years? So it was important to get a backup going! So far so good!

Functions as expected. Fast transfer speeds and a nice solid case. It's slightly smaller than the older models. I'm giving it 4 starts though because the first one I ordered was corrupt or something and would not write to the disk. Best Buy replaced it, but getting a bad drive never leaves a great feeling about long term reliability. But that's why I only use these as a 2nd or 3rd backup to another backup.

I was able to effectively use this newer version of an external hard drive like normal in some sort of faster process to transfer my files back and forth in a secure way.
