Got it to back up my MacBook Air with a Time Machine drive. Obviously not the same as Apple's Time Machine/Router - but that's not what I needed either. My MacBook recognized it and immediately asked if I wanted to use it as a time machine backup. I clicked on yes and it reformatted quickly and flawlessly. Very reliable drive. Would highly recommend it.

It is an accesible price and really easy to connect to your PS4!

This WD 4TB external hard drive provided lots of space at a very affordable price. I have used WD products before and expect the same quality out of this hard drive. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a 3.0 usb portable device.

When my old Seagate external hard drive recently bit the dust, I was reluctant to start all over with a new drive. I recalled the trouble I had with set-up and dreaded what I'd have to go through to replicate my old routine. However, I could not ignore the benefits I'd be giving up, such as file protection and an amazingly larger and faster drive than before, so I put my head down and walked through the process. Wow, it was a breeze! I was up and running in no time and discovered some nifty software that came with my Passport. Also, the drive takes up much less space, is portable, and does not require yet another power cord. So far my passport has performed flawlessly and I am a very happy camper. It is a great replacement!

This thing is an external hard-drive. While there are plenty of reasons why an external hard-drive could earn a bad review (maybe it caught on fire, or caused your computer to crash), I'm not sure what a hard-drive has to do to earn a high review. This thing hasn't done anything to make me regret purchasing it, so it gets a good review.

I am old enough to remember when just a little memory cost alot. Now, for a very reasonable price, in a very compact device, years worth of memory is available with WD 4TB Passport. Five star product at a five-star price.

I was looking for some extra space for my 1tb xbox1 as every game has to be installed and they are usually huge (like 40gb+) and so it fills up fast. I wanted at least a 2 or 3gb drive and when I saw this 4gb for only $30 more than the 2gb it was a no brainer. I've always used WD for external storage and knew I couldn't go wrong especially after all the good reviews. I transferred most of the games I don't play frequently over to it to free up as much as possible on the internal drive and freed up almost 500gb. Data transfer speeds are great with USB 3.0 and I think I was getting about 180MB (not mbps) transfer rate. And I see zero difference from playinh games from this drive vs the internal one. I highly recommend this drive due to its size, speed and cost.

I have bought over 20 of these 8TB and they always work great. They are not the fastest, and they can get very warm but then again these are meant to backup files... Do not expect to use this to game or play 4k videos off of they are not fast enough to do that. Avg Read is 150MB per second and Write is around 130MB per second

I use this 4TB backup drive for my desktop. It works fine. Has more capacity than a memory stick, and doesn't need external electrical power like the older model drive it replaced. And the drive is encrypted. I like the WD backup program on the drive: I can schedule it and forget it. So far no complaints about this drive.

I have a bunch of games, many I never got to play because of the PS4's standard 500GB hdd, picked this up and have installed most of my collection, now I can play any game I like without having to worry about space. Also, the good thing about using an external over upgrading the PS4's hdd is that it won't leave a digital fingerprint on it preventing you from using it on another PS4. Say your console dies, or you want to take your games over to a friend's house, all you need to do is safely remove it and then sign in on your PSN account on that other console. It's as simple as that. The only down side is you can't back up your saves on it, you'll either have to save them to a thumb drive or the Cloud via PS+. Totally worth it though.

Great compact external hard drive for backups or storing files for use while travelling. Fast transfer rates. Easy to set up on a Windows 10 PC, just plug and play. Works with Apple Macs too.

Quick USB 3.0 transfers, the software is kinda archaic so use another program to your liking. Compact and sleek looking.

Needed large capacity portable back-up for offsite archiving in case of disaster. The 4TB capacity was great as every accumulating family videos and photos exceeded prior 2 TB device. Data transfer went smoothly, but as expected given the amount of data, took a while. While USB 3.0 capable per specs, transfer speed limited by USB2.0 on computer. Key question is how well it holds up over time; have had one portable back-up in past suddenly go dead after a few years despite low back-up frequency (this is an offsite back-up to the back-up).
