works right out of the box, no setup needed. quiet fast and reliable

I was always wanting to transfer my photos to a device I can save my photos on since printing gets expensive and my mother mentioned this! I am beyond happy with how easy it was to plug into my computer and plug my phone in as well and just transfer right over and organize into folders. Now I can save my memories forever and not have to worry.

Its more than I expected for speed as I only have USB 2, but it is quite suffiicent to my needs. Although my transfer rate was low, its still not a problem at all, to watch high def movies or music videos. Tells you transfer rate while moving anything through into it for storage. simple and effective. Im going to end up with 2-3 more just like it for sure.

Like many others, this drive works the way it is intended. I travel for work and this little guy is filled with music and videos. I love it.

Pros: USB3 Fast transfer speeds (was decent even when pulling from USB2 device) No external power adapter (i consider this a pro at least) Cons: (if you call it a con) The size is a bit awkward, its bigger than the typical 2.5" external drive, but much smaller than the 3.5" Overall Very happy with this and the extra piece of mind that comes with the backup

This will be my second one. Great size and easy to use.

I know this was part of the plan and I've bought in to my own despair. I bought the one terabyte (several of them), then upgraded to the two terabyte (several of those too), etc. I now have TWO of the Four terabyte drives and while I admit that they are convenient (and habit-forming), I can't help but worry that I can/will lose 4Tb all at once, quite easily. Oh well...

It's portable, quiet, runs pretty cool, and fully powered over USB. Great price for the portability and it allowed me to consolidate backups across 7 other drives so I could sync with Backblaze and then re-allocate backups as needed. Seems to be well insulated (but I highly recommend you put portable hard drives in a protective case, small camera bags work really well!)

I have had WD HDD in the past and this works just as stated. Easy to set up and reliable. Great for storing years of family photos.

adds more tb for games etc on the ps4 and takes little space

After a recent scare of lost data (because my existing backup drives were full) I ran to upgrade my backup planning. A terrific BestBuy staffer recommended this as a popular solution, so I went with WD. The unit is fast and amazingly easy to use, and I feel much safer traveling with my laptop knowing that everything on it is also stored safe at home.
