My laptop is password protected. I need a local backup that is also password protected. This product claims that capability. I just bought it and am learning its features.

I love these WD portable drives. The 4TB capacity (you really only get 3.8TB of actual storage) is outstanding for video and other large files. I rely on these drives to backup irreplaceable files.

It is hard to imagine the capacity of this drive in relation to its physical measurements. It fills the needs that I have for it (backing up a personal computer). Given the History of WD Drives - I expect to be using this for a long while.

I use this drive to back up my Photoshop images. It works fast and seems quite durable. It is large enough so that I can put multiple copies of my Photoshop images on it so I can back up to an earlier image if the need arises.

The speed of this hard drive runs as fast or faster than some ssd's I have. This puppy just smokes! I'm using it as a back up drive and couldn't be happier. This drive comes in several different colors; I got the black one; it is saweet!

I use this drive on my iMac with Time Machine for backup my HD. I had formatted and started backups when I was running Sierra. It ran well. When I upgraded to High Sierra, disk errors started to occur. I consulted Apple and after resetting the PRAM the errors stopped (at least so far) and is running ok for the last few weeks. If that didn't work, I was going to reformat the drive using High Sierra.

Purchased to store my photos rather than storing on my iMac. Speed seems to be sufficiently fast enough for me to work in CaptureOne while accessing my photos stored in this drive. I did have to reformat for iMac.

I use this device to archive my photos and important e-documents. It is big enough to store over 10 years of pictures and video recordings of special events. Love the fact that I got this for less than $100 after visa checkout discount.
