needed additional removable storage, perfect! plug it into a usb3.0 port and this thing will fly!

This external hard drive is great and works as expected. However, I am disappointed with the included backup software. The Seagate software is much more useable, but can't be used on WD drives. I ended up buying a third party product.

Having a Mac, I updated to Sierra and needed Time Machine backup external hard drive. Surprisingly, the Mac version of this drive I used and I couldn't do an initial backup. I took it back for a refund and just thought, why not try the pc formated drive with the exact same specs. I traded it, used Disc Utility an app on Sierra to change and reformat the drive to Apple format. Next I tried a backup and it worked. It has continued to work for the last month or so. Who knew??

Great drive. Must be plugged in but this is not a big deal to me. Tons of storage. Would recommend.

You won't regret, just get this 4TB version, you eventually will need the space as much as possible.
