My computer does not have a lot of space to save things, and I also use different drives for different things. One for photography. This one for my stories and research. Makes it easier to find everything. And if my computer ever breaks or gets a virus, I won't have to worry about it since it's all saved on this external hard drive.

It is relatively very sleek given its storage. Works great and it even comes in other than "boring" black. I highly recommend it.

Overall, I have been happy with the WD portable drives, and have purchased a few of them. My only minor complaint is that I am a bit OCD and wish they would STOP changing the darn cases all the time. I know, silly, but... I bought this thinking it was fully 100% red, but the "new" version is half-red, half-black. First-world problems, I guess... But I reocmmend them. Good quality, Reasonable price.

Precious pictures, census records from Ancestry, other documents I found about my family that I can share with my family are now archived. Spreadsheets and pamphlets for non profits that I have helped create need to be saved until meetings. I would hate to lose all that work.
