I purchased the My Passport unit to replace an older, very slow unit so I didn’t expect getting started with this new one would be a big deal. Wrong! The user interface and documentation are subpar so it took much longer than expected and required serious searching for answers. There’s lots of information on the internet but it’s not well organized making it difficult to find an answer. However, once I got it set up and have been doing scheduled backups for about a month, I am quite happy with it. The backups occur as scheduled and it’s very fast. I’m using it to backup files on a laptop so I connect/disconnect it frequently. The small size makes this an easy task and I purchased a nice storage case to keep it safe. For the price, I’m very happy with my purchase.

I rarely have problems with WD Hard Drives. I just wish they would invent ways to connect a handful at a time. Sometimes using an extender makes it click, but from what I found out that's because not enough power is going to the drive. I used to think it meant the drive was going bad - but had two new one's and clicking started. I changed cords and/or moved to direct connect to computer - clicking stopped. So ensure power is enough.

This drive is fast, reliable and compact. I use them for backups and transporting files all the time.

This is a great portable hard drive. No external power is needed and 4TB will give you plenty of space.

I bought this solely to increase the storage capacity on my Xbox one after it quickly got full. A Best Buy employee recommended this product to me in store, telling me he used this exact product himself for his Xbox One and it worked great with no problems. I went with his recommendation and it has worked great for me as well! No issues to report and now I can enjoy plenty of games without worry of being full on my Xbox One! Game on! :)

I've had my share of experiences with larger clunky external storage devices in order to take advantage of the largest storage size available in the market during the time I needed. Frustrated with carrying around such a heavy device + a power cord, I opted for a smaller portable one which thankfully offers the sufficient amount of space that I needed. I've never had any problems with Western Digital drives so I trust this brand and would recommend it for others to buy.
