    There are 2 laptops for which I wanted this drive to be an image backup for both. (I set up 2 partitions on that drive, with Carbon Copy Cloner.) It works great. When one of my laptops needed to be serviced, I attached the drive to the laptop I had at home, and could boot from the image backup from the other laptop and access my files.

    I needed at least 4gbs for work purposes. I prefer an SSD but they are still a little pricey. Having a few low gb SSDs makes me realize how much larger and heavier this 4gb drive really is. That said for the price I really am satisfied with the drive. If you are new to external hard drives make sure you check out the solid state drives before buying a non SSD.
