was exactly what i wanted, external storage that worked without any extra setup. just plug and play

I use this to backup Synology NAS fro a 3rd copy that can be stored off site from the NAS. So far, this has worked well. I'm not sure about the speed, but it doesn't really affect me as the backup occurs overnight while I'm sleeping. This is my 3rd WD Passport, and all of them work well. I just need to keep increasing the size as my files (photos and videos) continue to add up.

Great price for the size. Purchased this to go with my MacBook Air, only had to reformat it prior to use which was very easy. Very small and convenient.

i needed an external hw for my mac time machine and this had 5 T for a very reasonable price. am very happy

Compact, reliable option for storing large amounts of data (videos, music, etc.), Compact pocket form factor makes it a good size for travel. Never had reliability problems with WD drives.

Its doing what I purchased it for, with no set-up hassle. Ease of use for a novice: excellent. Enough space for what I need, retrievable data at all times, just perfect!

I love the size of my Passport 5TB External Portable Hard Drive. It's about the size of an iPhone. It's easy to use and store. This is my second one. When I fill this up, I'll get another one. I use it to store photos. Very convenient.

Five terabytes for a little over $100. I use this external hard drive for all of my stream recordings wich there is alot and I have zero complaints.

Portable, fast, secure storage. Read speeds slower than WD Black but Write speeds are faster. Perfect for pc or Mac storage, not as good for video game external storage. Would high recommend this produce. Can’t wait to purchase more on Black Friday.

I have many of these because they are stable and reliable, and they have never had problems! I trust Western Digital over any other brand. This amount of storage has also become less and less expensive, with a variety of colors and connections.

Thes drives are great for backing up pictures and other types of files. I have used these for years and are always a goto when someone asks me what to use for their personal storage.

WD - My Passport 5 TB External 3.0 Portable Hard Drive is another excellent product for storing all your important information - in one convenient location! I've always used My Passports for both work and home use - and now with 5TB of space, I can combine all of my files to one hard drive. I trust their products to keep my data safe, and this particular drive will be used for just photos. I highly recommend any of their products if you want to know your important information will be protected!

What can I say? This little device does everything you'd want. It holds an amazing 5TB of your stuff for a low price that would have been unheard of just a few years ago. It's totally quiet and fast.

Western Digital is our brand of choice. Reliable and fast. The 5TB allows for storing all our digital photos and old photos and slides we've scanned or converted to digital. The price was great and on sale helped more.

This 5tb WD My Passport hard drive is the best portable HD you will find for the price. Western Digital is the only brand I ever use and the My Passport series is extremely reliable. I have their HDs going back to 2009 and they are still all running strong.

I initially got this to create a system image in case a driver issue, virus, Windows bug, or something else ever happened (ironically, got an error 3 days after purchasing and this saved me a bunch of time). I also use it to store in-game clips that I am too lazy to edit. It is perfect for my use case as I don't need those clips in my storage 24/7 and primarily having it disconnected with a system image on it is ideal (e.g. a ransomware attack could wipe it).

The passport was a wonder to have very easy to handle and set up and has a lot of memory.

A really nice item. Helps me free up space on my computer, and store my music, memorable pictures and files. I highly recommend this item.
