This is a great backup drive. Works great for that purpose but I would recommend their desktop drives for daily use due to fast higher performance. This drive is more for travel and media storage or backups rather than heavy writing.

I totally LOVE the Western Digital External Hard Drives. I've been using them for years, and they just keep getting better as technology develops. Each time I purchase a new one, they're small with more storage capacity. Ya gotta love it :) And I love that Best Buy carries them. I use Best Buy for all my tech needs!

A lot of storage space. Also its compact. Very easy to use. Keeps all your files safe and also you can create a password.

This has to be the best hard drive i've bought in a long time. It is way smaller than my old one and does not come with power supply brick which is awesome! I highly recommend this if you need extra storage. I use this for my xbox aswell.

Great option for backup, extra storage, and portability. WD Passport is quality equipment I can trust.

Five stars for external design (can be slipped into the breast pocket of a jacket), connections (a short USB 3.0 cord is provided but no need for a separate power supply), and immediate use (if Windows, it's just plug and play). Minus two stars for failure to include promised "quick install guide" (only the user agreement is in the packaging), the failure of WD's support site to provide download for instructions, the incompatibility of this drive with Bitlocker (I wanted to use Windows Pro's security to be consistent with my other external drives, but it won't work with this drive), and glitches when installing the WD utilities (had to force the install when it claimed it couldn't find its own EXE files). That said, it's a very handy little device. I wound up using the WD encryption utility and then tried it on a different computer that didn't have the WD utilities. Plugging it in automatically triggered a request to launch the unlock utility and it worked just fine on the new PC. Recommended if you aren't planning on using Bitlocker for drive encryption. Works like it should. Using as a second drive with a powered hub since the PC couldn’t power two usb drives. No problens.
