Great for my vids. Ran out of space on others, so needed a new external. Not much different that the others I own.

Great little WD portable hard drive. Setup was easy and transfer rates are pretty fast for this little guy.

I have not had an issue with this HD. It was a good price and I like the ability to have it encrypted and password protected.

The software that comes with it is great. I use it for gaming. load times are a bit long but no unbearable.

I bought this for a backup drive using the Acronis True Image that was provided with the drive. I did the first backup of my confidential data, and the next time I powered up the computer the drive clicked three times - looking at the drive on Windows the files were still there so I thought it might be ok. The next time I powered up the computer, it clicked 3 times. So I used Drive Utilities that came with the drive, but the drive was not listed. So I went back to Windows and tried to create a text file on the drive. It responded with hardware error. If I had not done sleuthing it would have been another week until the next backup to discover that the drive was really not working. To shorten the story, I couldn't return the drive for a refund or replacement because it had my data on it. I had to buy a new drive to complete my backup, so I am out $$ for 2 drives. Neither Best Buy nor Western Digital would give me a refund without giving them the drive with the data on it. To ensure the privacy of my data on the drive I have to destroy it. Purchasing this drive has proved to be a negative and costly experience.

So easy to use and it's so fast it's amazing and cuts out the time waiting for downloads. Very impressive.

built in hard drive was maxed out on 3 or 4 games. got this guy to back me up. hides in my bag when i dont need it.

The backup software that comes with the drive is not that good at all. I back up my computer and try restoring the files from another computer and it failed. All I can do is to copy the files directly to the drive and then you can save them to another computer without using the back up software. The drive has the problem of losing the connection or stop working if the computer is idle for a long period of time. I have to restart the computer in order to recognize the drive again.

The 5TB works great, I backed up all of my files from three PC's in just a few hours, Very happy with my purchase.

I’m using this drive as expansion for an Xbox One. Formatting was easy and it is plenty fast to install and run games.
