Like most other external hard drives I have had, it gets a little hot if you transfer files for too long. Give it a 30-60 minute break, come back, and keep going to prevent overheating during massive backups.

The 5TB allows for storing all our digital photos and old photos and slides we've scanned or converted to digital. The price was great and on sale helped more.

I've always used My Passports for both work and home use - and now with 5TB of space, I can combine all of my files to one hard drive. I trust their products to keep my data safe, and this particular drive will be used for just photos. I highly recommend any of their products if you want to know your important information will be protected!

Great Hard Drive

Western Digital is the only brand I ever use and the My Passport series is extremely reliable. I have their HDs going back to 2009 and they are still all running strong.

Never have enough archival storage space.

You can never have enough storage. These usb powered drives are indispensable. I like having multiple drives to have extra backups in case a drive ever fails. Plus i just hate paying to watch a rotation of bad programming when i can buy it once and own it forever and just store it for likely the rest of my life.
