Works amazing, never have issues with Western Digital products. Plenty of storage for my backups. Not bad for the price!

Five stars for external design (can be slipped into the breast pocket of a jacket), connections (a short USB 3.0 cord is provided but no need for a separate power supply), and immediate use (if Windows, it's just plug and play). Minus two stars for failure to include promised "quick install guide" (only the user agreement is in the packaging), the failure of WD's support site to provide download for instructions, the incompatibility of this drive with Bitlocker (I wanted to use Windows Pro's security to be consistent with my other external drives, but it won't work with this drive), and glitches when installing the WD utilities (had to force the install when it claimed it couldn't find its own EXE files). That said, it's a very handy little device. I wound up using the WD encryption utility and then tried it on a different computer that didn't have the WD utilities. Plugging it in automatically triggered a request to launch the unlock utility and it worked just fine on the new PC. Recommended if you aren't planning on using Bitlocker for drive encryption. This five tb is a beast it's compact by today's measures, and great product I have an earlier model that still ticking and taking a liking good product.

I filled up the first passport I had bought in 2016. So I bought a newer bigger one. I did have to call their help line and in no time they gave me one little instruction and it works just great.

Fairly fast and reliable. Love it. Also really like the myWD feature that lets you manage all connected external storage easily. Worth the price!

I hope this one works better than the last one I bought. The other one threw all of the documents that were saved on the hd to just any folder on my desk top. I will have to go through every folder on my desk top to locate my important files and try and save them onto this hard drive. It must just have been past the 5 year mark of operations. It did keep throwing up an icon saying what do you want to do with this device. I did not understand it was time to buy a bigger one. The other one was only 1TB, the new one is 5TB.

Bought this HD for backup. Not SSD, but it was economical for for lots of storage. Have had good success with WD drives.
