I purchased this external hard drive as an additional method to store data. I do so much on my computer and want instant access to data when I leave home. I can take it with me wherever I go. I have always trusted WD products. You can't go wrong with them.

Easy to use, we use it for large media files. Works great, haven't had any issues.

This is my second upgrade to a larger capacity drive. I didn't realize that, by unchangeable default, the drive keeps five backups of everything. I backup my C: so there is a lot of data to store. Just something to keep in mind when deciding what size to buy. My only other issue is that it sometimes fails to backup. I'm not sure if that is a problem with the drive or the software. If I notice that it has missed a day or two I just do a manual backup. I've never had to do a restore from this device so I can't address how well that function works.

So much storage I love it. Easy to use just connect to the computer.

Plenty of space for regular full backups and it does it faster than my old drive. - One caveat that I saw a lot of folks having before I decided on this unit: It doesn't have rubber feet or anything to keep it from sliding if your desk is prone to this. I took a few rubber feet and put them on the bottom corners and it's perfection. Another 2 bucks, but it probably helps with cooling too!

Great external for backups. Prices for these drives have dropped.

Picked it up today and running a few benchmark apps and looks great so far. I own several WD SSD's and all have performed excellent so I'm confident this will as well. What I'd like to do is thank all of the outstanding service associates at Best Buy. It only took an associate 5 minutes to verify my purchase and hand me the package and I was on my way! Great job guys and gals during this covid crisis!

Great storage. Good for the PS4. No need to buy an upgraded PS4 console with more memory.

the unit works fine, but I am disappointed, that you have to utilize a work around to use it with Linux. I have not switched all of my computers over to Linux, and only go back to Windows, or apply when I have to. You can make it work, but it does not work as smooth as it should

Easy to set up and use. I had it up and running in minutes. Great price!

Holds 5TB of data. Quick and Easy use. Smack in 4 TB in 2 hours and you're set. Bring that collection of movies around with you on travel or isolation. You'll love it for storing family pics or loads of data. However, I do not recommend for PS4 or holding data that you use often. GO buy an SSD. They're going down in prices so be patient and buy the next $100 2TB SSD for ps4 or wait for ps5

This is the first thing that I had to use for my computer's shrinking disk space. I had thousands of photos. I needed a little guidance as to how to put my photos on and then find them. The directions were not at all clear. Once it was installed...a simple plug in, It was ready with more space than I will use in a lifetime! It is very easy to access my photos now as well. Good investment.

This external hard drives works well with both IOS computers and other comouters. Easy to use and handy.

I found this product very appealing for it's features. Especially the Hardware Encryption, which basically makes the hard drive's data hard to impossible to be breached when stolen or misplaced. Can be used for data protection storage with the feature like Password Protection. For $100+ you can't go wrong, it is portable, doesn't require additional AC power to run it, just plug and play!

This WD portable hard drive was easy to install and works very well.

Great for anyone needing to travel with relatively big files(video, music, etc.) Been great for transferring studio session files between the studio and my home computer.

Its good. Quiet. Best not to have it connected all the time or will run continuously. Like the password feature. Next time will by a solid state as you can damage data from the unit moving or dropping while writing data Password software could be FAR better so lowered star for ease of use
