Very average performance over USB3. This slowed the host Mac down so much as a secondary drive it was relegated to a TimeMachine (backup) disk. Good for storage, not for performance

Within 24 hours, this hard drive completely stopped working. I was finally able to go deep into my computer's settings and clear out this hard drive; however, doing so erased all of the native software on the hard drive. So now, I essentially have a 4TB hard drive that is literally no different than any other hard drive except I don't trust this one in particular anymore; I'll likely not store sensitive or important files on it. I wish I would have known I could have returned it to Best Buy, because I would have. Lesson learned on my part.

I am only giving this one star, because the system will not allow me to give it negative start. I recently got this drive(Less than a month ago), against my better judgment because I have not had good luck with Western Digital products in the past. The price was good, and I thought I would give it another shot. Well I plugged it into my computer tonight, to find some files, and it won’t register. Now I am not happy, but the computer I was on is older and maybe it was that computer, so I plugged it into my newer computer I use for editing photos and same result. I will be returning it to the store, but I know they won’t be able to get my files back, and WD is absolutely no help recovering files. It is my fault for trusting WD again. Guess lesson learned and I will never purchase anything WD again.

It's nice to have such a large hard drive that is powered by the USB port instead of having to plug in a separate power adapter into a wall outlet for power.

I bought this to replace a portable hard drive that isn't as accessible as it used to be. I found that transferring data was very easy and the speed is very good.

Brought this product for dual transfer and saving documents between my imac, ipads, and my pc which uses word so it works for me.

Simple. Gets the job done. It does feel like you have to be super careful to not bump it or hit it. So be sure to store it somewhere REALLY safe. Price was just okay.

This drive I use to back up several other smaller backup drives. Provides more backup safety, peace of mind. You can not have to much backups.

I should have gotten this myPassport over the easyStore, because the myPassport is password protected, a nice feature to have.

Works as advertised but I did not install the WD software (not needed) so I cant speak to that. Transfer rates seem to be slow but overall the value is great

i had to replace old one with this new drive. portable drives have kept breaking up. so i had to replace it with new one . i had geek squad protection warranty, anyway.
