Use Seagate
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I hated this thing. I seldom use the word. I read the review and understood some of the issues were possibly user issues. I purchased, plugged it in and it did not work. My computer recognized it but it would not show up in the folders. It was the correct plug, plugged in right. I could not add anything to it. Something like this should be easy to use, It always been (my Seagate products at least). I went with that brand.

Excellent High Capacity Hard Drive
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I currently have a desktop computer that serves as our primary computer for the family in the office. The WD 4TB Passport is great for backing up photos, documents, etc. I am currently using it to take weekly backups of my photos and home videos from an internal drive, and also backing up my SSD that is my primary drive. It gives me peace of mind to have this backed up regularly. This drive is portable in the sense that you can easily detach it and plug it into another laptop, desktop, etc. It's small enough to fit in a laptop bag or a pocket for that matter, and the fact that it does not require an external power source is great. That being said, I don't think I'd normally carry this thing around in a bag or put it in situations where it could be bumped, etc. It's a mechanical drive and these things can get damaged. It's also backed with a 3Yr warranty which is important and gives me the peace of mind that it should last.

Did not work due to disc corruption
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Spent a couple of hours trying to download photos. Kept getting error message. Called Western Digital and after an hour doing tests at their direction, WD informed me that the WB was corrupted. This required another 2 hour drive back to Best Buy to return.

No. I won’t do this again
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The instructions on this was not very clear and if you’re not tech savvy, this thing will irritate your soul. I tried to get it to work and it didn’t find out how to use it. By the time I wanted to return it, it was too late. It was a disappointment to say the least.

Too Fragile. Damaged Easily.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One minor bump and the drive was unreadable after less than a month of use. Would recommend another option if the drive will be mobile at all.

Great Portable Hard Drive, Works With PS4
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The WD My Passport external hard drive is compact and easy to use. I first connected it to my computer. It popped up a sidebar with different options. For security, you can set a password. One great option is that it can pull pictures from various places to store them. One of the options was Facebook. You just click the link, sign in with your Facebook credentials and it will automatically download all of your pictures and videos for safe keeping. I then backed up my pictures that were already on my computer. It was as simple as sliding the picture folders in to the My Passport drive. I have a lot of pictures and many of them were shot on a Canon at 16mp. At 4TB, the My Passport has plenty of room for all of your pictures. The transfer process was fast with the USB 3.0. For example, almost 900 hi-res pictures transferred in a little over three minutes. I then wanted to see how well it would work for my PS4. It was as simple as plugging it into the USB port and going to the device settings. You're then able to format the MY Passport as external storage. I moved all of my downloaded games to the My Passport. Transferring four large games took about half an hour. This freed up a lot of space on my PS4. Now that the games load from the My Passport, they load a little faster. Overall, with whatever you choose to use the My Passport for, it does it well. From storing and protecting memories with pictures and videos, or extending the storage on your PS4, you can't go wrong. It's small size and light weight make it great for traveling and being able to grab and go and it won't take up much desk space. I highly recommend the My Passport.
