I lost all my documents and pictures when I could no longer charge my old laptop. I kept taking it for granted and putting it off, but never backed them up to an external device. Now that I’ve replaced my old laptop, I wanted to ensure I had a vault for my pictures and documents. I was able to recover some pictures from Facebook, texts, and emails, but I had to spend a lot of time searching through ones I wanted to keep. This product gives me more than enough space, is compact, and easy to use.

I've had one of these for a number of years, and I just bought another to dedicate to storing tutorials and pictures. The device does some with a disc for installing software, but that isn't necessary to use the drive and load tons of data for safe keeping. The price is good, and My Passport seems to work a little more reliably than any other storage system I've had in the past. Add to that its compact size and its really hard to beat. I'm not sure that there is a better option for home use.

Great product, light weight& very quiet .4 T storage is a great size for a small portable HD . I love it, and can store all my music files and can be access very quickly.

These are great drives. I have 2 or 3 of them, and I got one for my mother. They've all been stable, no loss of data. One is the external drive for my PS5, and it's held up just fine. Can't ask for more than that, especially at the price point.

Holds alot of my dads work files that he needs. Connects great with my computer and is very easy to work.

I was overall satisfied, but if you are playing on a laptop and not going to be playing video games (or whatever you do) on a solid tabletop I would definitely worry about the cord or to be more careful with it. I think if your looking for a good terabyte though it is very good by the way I use this terabyte for downloading video games and I have not yet to have noticed it taking long to load (I’ve had it for about 6-7 months) so as I know with some terabytes do. So yes very good and definitely recommend.

I use this to increase the storage for my PS4. It was totally plug and play. Up and running in under a minute. I haven't experienced any lag when playing games downloaded to this. Excellent product. Getting another for my laptop

After reading other reviews, I chose this to replace my older (and much larger) WD 3TB drive that seemed to be lagging. This drive was easy to set up and partition into 3TB backup/1TB storage. So far it’s performing extremely well.

Fast, compact drive. Works great. Only complaint is that it doesn't come with a USB-C adapter, but it says that in the description.

Over the past decade, I've been partial to WD products whenever I needed external storage and/or back-up for my computer, particularly their My Passport external drives, because of their ergonomic design, ease of use, and product reliability. Therefore, when I needed another external hard drive recently, I bought this 4TB drive without hesitation. I've been extremely pleased with the performance of this drive and it is very easy to use as always. As a bonus, the blue top plate with the diagonal groves looks attractive and provides a positive grip when handling the drive. This was on sale at Best Buy when I bought it, making it an even sweeter deal.

I have three of the Passport externals and really like them. I love the small size. They come in a variety of capacities. They are the best value in my opinion for an affordable external storage method.

With this specific external memory I was able to save more than 4000 thousand photos in minutes. And it is really easy to utilize. I really recommend it since it’s not the first one I bought but it is the best one I got.

Very small considering the storage size. I like this external as it does not need to be connected to Power separately, just a USB and you are set. High capacity, small size for a good price.
