However decided to try another and, so far, all OK

Works great as a TimeMachine backup on my Mac.

I'm new to Apple, but everything works so well, not cryptic/coded as so many Windows products are. Because it is formatted for Mac - there was no preparation, just plug it in and activate Time Machine. Have another windows based hard drive like this that is used to backup my cloud drive, both work well.

Once I got that straightened out it seems to work great.
