It;s wonderful for photos and storage! It helped me out a lot!! Such a easy little tool to carry around with you.

When my old MacBook died I had to get everything from that computer to my new laptop. I was using a PC at the time and had to go through some hoops to get the files onto my new computer, as this hard drive is made specifically to transfer from mac to mac.

The large capacity is good, but there's nothing special about this drive. It's reasonably fast with the USB connection, but I would have preferred some other options like a lightning connection or Firewire. Construction seems a little flimsy, so don't drop it!

It will do the minimum things that I need it to do

This hard drive stays connected to my laptop no matter how many times I move the laptop around. No reconnecting with this external drive

It works just as expected, though when within the first week it turned out my hardrive was faulty. Luckily, Best Buy replaced mine faulty drive with a new one that has been working great for quite some time (a little over 4 months).

After a while, the hard drive cable gets kind of worn and takes a few wiggles for the computer to recognize it. Sometimes it wiggles loose and it "improperly ejected." Not a good sign when you are saving and backing up files.

I was wanting to be able to password protect my files and found in WD a great product that works flawlessly with MacBook Pro

This is a great external drive that has a built in backup that is automatic and is something less to do. On top of that even if your computer gets corrupted or stolen, the data will be available to restore to a new Mac.

Needed a hard drive for a photo shoot that could transfer 1,200 high res photo. It uses Usb 3.0 and was a good price.

My dishwasher was delivered with the handle brackets scratched with no fault to On Par Installation who unpacked the dishwasher in front of me. Both Best Buy and On Par Installations managed the problem on the spot and schedule a new machine for the same week. Still excited to use the new machine, I ran my 1st load and the machine ran for more than 3 hours until I turned it off. I tried again the next morning, and after an hour and half, I had to turn machine off again. On the bright side, you don't know it is even on. I hope the replacement actually works!

Had to purchase this in order to remove some files on my computer for space. Seems to be doing the job.

The device required a software upgrade....that went on and on for hours! What a disappointment! Returned it to the store & purchased a SeaGate!
