This has been a really decent backup drive. The reason I write decent is, although it runs perfectly while the computer is on, something happens when you close the screen or put the computer to sleep. For me, the drive informs me that there is an error, and my files can't be read. That's why I had returned, and replaced it with a different drive. So far, nothing wrong has happened. Will update. Also, just make sure you unplug the drive before closing or putting the Mac to sleep.

Bought this one for my husband and he loves it just as much as I love mine. We are both Mac fanatics and it's nice that we didn't have to format this ourselves. My husband is very technologically challenged and this is super easy even for him to use. Bonus I did not have to teach him how to use it myself.

I bought this Mac version to use with Time Machine for backing up an older Mac desktop. Even using USB 2.0, it backed up the whole hard drive in the Mac quickly and keeps backing up in the background. The Passport external hard drive is small and draws its power from the USB port.

One unit that serves to extend our DSL and is also a backup external hard drive. This is economical on space and should have the capacity to handle my vacation photos easily.

nothing special to say about this product, would expect wireless capability for the price but I guess this does the trick and backs up my imp. docs and photos.

I bought this drive to run Lightroom and keep image files. I didn't have to do anything but plug it into my iMac as it was already formatted for it. The drive runs fast and is easy to move from the iMac to my MacBook Pro when I travel.

I use this as a backup drive. It is large enough to hold everything I need and works very well. Since it is portable it can be easily stored off-site. I have used Western Digital for over 10 years with no issues whatsoever.
