This device formated for use with mac seems to be working flawlessly. I have two time casules already, so I decided to try this. I nearly lost 18,000 images, so this lower cost unit is being added to my back up strategy.

Great Backup

I've plugged it into my router so that it's available to me without dangling off of my laptop. Unfortunately, the device is designed to be included in backups of your hard drive, but if it's plugged in to the router, it will not be backed up. It is probably a better accessory for an iMac or Mac mini because you don't have to continuously plug and unplug it!

2TB WD Product, but...

This time around - I purchased for movie/video archives. My only issue is: this product isn't recognized (like others) by my Vizio SmartTV. Perhaps different firmware. Slight disappointment - still recommended.

Slim portable hard drive formatted for Mac

I like the drive and have had no problems out the drive . It has extra security features you can download also

Great Hard Drive!

I haven't been able to look at everything it's back-up but it seems to always be working overtime to same my important personal data on my computer!

Works for cd burner

A little flimsy when trying to load and eject..felt like I might break it. Haven't tried the DVD player yet. Much cheaper than the apple brand for my mac but since I was only needing one time use, this was sufficient.
