Purchased this item knowing it would fit my work flow. It has meet every one of my needs so far. MAC comparability has been great. I would recommend this item!

My passport abled me to backup my computer to transfer my data. It was a good price as well.

We got this to replace our old External Hardrive. This works with Mac. All I had to do was plug it in. I am very happy with it and glad I looked around for something compatible that I didn't have to format.

I bought this to replace a backup drive I had that died. It was easy to hook up and set up to use with Time Machine on my Mac Mini. I t does the job I need it to.

I bought this to run Time Machine on my MacBook Air. It works perfectly. I can also offload files from my "hard drive" (it's actually a Solid State Drive, not a Disk Drive) onto the Passport portable hard drive.

Excellent external hard drive for Mac. Easy to connect and use. Reliable back up of data. USB 3.0 provides reasonably fast transfer rates.

When I bought this I thought I was buying a passport. Nope! This is a hard drive. It’s for computers to store data and such. Don’t plan to travel with this. It just won’t work. It’s not a real passport. Go to the post office to get this done. I think... wait, try going online first. The post office to take the photo. Good luck!

Compact, well-built, inexpensive external HD. Solidly built, easy to connect to my MacBook Pro and immediately use Time Machine to create a complete backup of my HD with plenty of room for subsequent backups.

Worked well with Yosemite. Western Digital website offers a manual, but I think the owner’s manual offered at the Best Buy website was more recent. 2 cables are in box: USB-A and USB-C. I used the older cable.

Easy to hook up and does not take up a lot of room.
