I have it for less than a month and it broke when I tried to remove it from my Mac. Really upsetting for the cost , it should be more reliable

Bought the WD - My Passport for Mac 2TB External USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive & on the 11 day the external hard drive stopped working. Lost everything on it. Will not buy another external hard drive by this company again.

Can’t use for Tesla,how some is not loading memory

Stopped working after 5 months. I lost the files on the hard drive. I didn’t even use it that often. Don’t buy this Hard drive unless you want to lose all your important files after 5 months of occasional usage.

Im not much of computer user . That being said should of been as easy plug and use. I tried everything the website said and different laptops to no Avail

Had WD before so bought this one. Very difficult to install. Registered product but Would not recognize Me. Apple store person also had issues with it. Returned it and bought a G drive. It worked perfectly.

You guys changed the shipping date. I was in a hurry and my purchase was extremely necessary during my trip. It is time i have not seen my external portable hard drive :/ Maybe I will consider to place another order with best buy

The software seems parasitic and I was not able to create folders within the device.

Unfortunately although I’ve had great experience with these in the past. I had to return two of them recently because within a week they started clicking and acting funny. I have since stopped using these. I find them on reliable.

This started having errors within a year despite of making sure to take great care of it. I would recommend investing a bit more money for a higher quality product.

Disk failure after only 3-1/2 months of use. Can't read, write or delete, so it's off to the trash after a good thrashing with a hammer.

Doesn’t work not sure why it’s supposed to be set up for a Mac book computer. Goes thru all the motions, then says it can’t back up the file due to an error, but doesn’t identify what the error is.

Advertised to be easy to install--just plug it in. Wrong. I had to bring it to the store and have the Geek squad install it.

Used this and backed up all of my data just for it to crash less than 30 days later!!! Now I have lost photos. Crappy external hard drive

Only works for time machine, can’t get it to work as a simple storage drive.

Not very easy to use. not worth the money. So far haven't been able to transfer from windows to Mac as I was told it would.

i tried everything even called the head it guy at WD but they cant figure it out and wants to share screen with my laptop, im good ill take the lost smh

Not a good experience as I tried to use this to back up my MacBook information

I got this drive for my wife's aging Mac Book Air. We have been living in a hotel while our home is being remodeled and do not have access to our WD My Cloud which is usually on our home network. I use My Cloud to backup all of my computers but I have never been able to get her to use it. The other day she thought that she had lost an insurance spreadsheet that she had spent weeks compiling. Thus the need for a portable backup. The computer recognized the drive upon plugging the USB cable in. The WD Discovery software failed to install for two attempts. I assumed that the failure was due to the fact that when my wife got this Mac she took an oath to never upgrade the OS due to many issues with updates and upgrades in the past. I copied and pasted a number of her important files into labeled folders, copied all of her files in a batch and then turned on Time Machine and did a complete backup. All worked flawlessly and quickly. While there is no transfer speed/progress graph as there is on Windows, the transfers progressed quickly and finished in about the stated time. With my Windows machines it seems that these operations start out with blazing speed and then slow to a crawl, this did not happen here. Backing up with this drive seems much faster than me backing up my Windows machines over the home network to My Cloud. The second time I plugged up the drive I was able to install the WD Discovery software. I sort of expected some WD backup software to be included but there is none, it is designed to work with Time Machine and that's fine. We are both happy with this drive, it's simple to use and fast!
