She was very relieved to free up space on her hard drive! As with all things for Apple, it was a bit more expensive than those for non-Apple applications, but it was easier to do it this way.

The first one froze up, got corrupted and couldn’t be reformatted. The conversion cable for USB-C stopped working in a short period of time.

I had to search on Youtube and found some random guy who told me how it worked. It seemed to back up my computer okay. Of course, I will never know I guess unless I need it, which is the same for all backups. But the problem is, it says on the package password protected. And at no point was I asked to set a password or give a password. I wrote to customer service asking the question and I got a bot-type response that seemed to be cut and pasted from promotional material but not answering my question. So I tried again and got a similar non-sequitur response. So I really don't know. I think they need to improve their customer service and provide instructions.

I've had mixed reliability from this brand but it was on sale and the price was right. I have the laptop backed up to the cloud as well. Still, half expecting it to fail soon is not a ringing endorsement, I guess.
