This hard drive has been working just fine for the ~6 months I've been using it - no complaints at all! One big thing for Mac users, though–remember you'll need to format this (and many other) external hard drives, so it will take a little instructions-following and time before you can save out files.

Bought this for my daughter's laptop to keep her school work and other important files automatically backed up.

This was a great, affordable quick option to back up all the photos on the various laptops in our household. The transfer was swift and painless. I'm not a big believer in cloud storage. I'd rather the files be backed up in something I can control (and pay for once). This did the job and then some.

Much faster write speed than my previous portable drive. Built in password protection is a good added benefit.

Bought this to move files off an old compter. Works great. Faster transfer than moving to cloud or other service. Have several WD drives over the years and always have worked well if not abused.

Bought this for my Surface Pro 3 as an external drive. Opened the box, plugged in the one wire (this does not need a/c power) and plugged the other end (USB) into the Surface Pro and instantly I had an extra TB of storage. Fast 3.0 transfer speeds and a little footprint to boot. Worth every penny...
