Bought this primarily to use as an Xbox One hard drive. Best Buy sells this cheaper than the newer USB 3.0 exclusive model that WD came out with this year. If you look at the tech specs and read/write speeds between the two there is no difference so there is really no need to buy the new version for more money. This drive is literally the equivalent of the new model. I find that it is fast and responsive and the Xbox One picked it up immediately and formatted it (don't fall victim to paying extra money for the "special" Xbox Seagate drives. The Xbox One can auto detect and format this in seconds). I do believe this is slightly faster on loading screens than the on-board Xbox One hard drive but the difference is somewhat negligible. This is a cheap option to increase storage space if like me you have the older 500GB Xbox One. I haven't tested this on a PC so I cannot speak to that.

I have always relied on the passport hard disk. It's really fast and it's easy to use in both Mac and Windows environment. It's very compact and handy, easy to carry.

Simple easy to use. Worked easily with my MAC and PC as a way to transfer a lot of data.

My back up plan for music involves putting over 3T of music (on an internal HD) on separate back up drives. Clouds take too long. If a single drive crashes, you lost it all. With 3 or 4 separate drives, like these little things, You only would lose 25 to 33%. Get it? Stored at a separate location.When on sale, as they often are, it's just a little more in cost. The WD Passport Ultra is fast and small.

In today's world, where our devices are full of pictures, video clips, music, etc., the only practical way to backup our data is on an external drive. CD's and DVD's don't come close to having the capacity to save our growing collections of data (and PLEASE don't tell me you don't bother to backup your data!!). These drives are convenient and easy to use, they can be found in large enough sizes to handle nearly every need, and the prices are reasonable (and they go on sale fairly regularly). I have multiple external drives devoted to different purposes. They are great for backups, additional storage, and even a good way to share large amounts of data between devices. All of my external drives are the WD My Passport series of drives. They have been very dependable and affordable. If you are considering purchasing an external drive, I encourage you to consider the WD brand of products.

The WD Passport is so easy to use. I do not have geek abilities and so needed something easy. I plugged into my granddaughters laptop and downloaded all of her photos from her photography business and cleaned up her laptop so she could continue to use it. I have bought a couple more to use on my own computer and give to a friend to clean her computer of all her photos and videos. Works like a charm.

I use this drive for photos so I don't use up space on my PC. The drive is small but works well. It was very easy to install..just plug it in and pc recognizes it.

I can backup all of my files and pictures and make this hard drive my primary storage device this will allow me to save space on my computer. This hard drive also allows me to store both PC and Mac files. The best thing was that it was extremely affordable

This product has a LOT of storage space and it's small and easy to use.

At first it was a bit hard to get it configured with the mac. But once i got the settings going then it is super easy now. The size is great too.

I originally looked at the fancy external HD drives with the shiny metal cases, but when you get down to it, you really don't need to care what it looks like. You need the extra storage period. I used this with my work laptop on a roadtrip so I could film with my GoPro and save the video. I was running out of room on the laptop. so this was the perfect addition to make the trip much better.

This is perfect for backing up your data. It's small enough to fit in your pocket.
