I purchased this portable hard drive to use at work - to move my personal files off of my very old computer. It didn't seem to "communicate" with that computer -so it's free for my home use/backup!!

Bought this for my girlfriend. Easy to use. Works perfectly.

Had to wipe an entire computer worth of data to be transferred to a new machine, having 1TB made it so easy. The price on this was more than reasonable, I couldn't pass it up. If you find a deal like that, jump on it.

I bought this external hard drive as an add-on for my Xbox 360 memory and it has served its purpose well would definitely recommend to anyone else needing extra storage I am sure they will be happy with the results.

Great for backup storage...easy to use and compact size.

I decided to expand my internal memory, on my 16GB NVIDIA SHIELD T.V., by adding a 1TB USB 3.0 HDD. This drive creates a dual partition. One partition is for your main storage and the second is used as a backup. Well, this became a problem with the NVIDIA SHEILD T.V. as i assume the NVIDIA SHEILD T.V. being a android device running Android T.V. as it's operation system, a then dual partition on a hard drive would cause it to either continually disconnect itself, or not read the drive at all. The former was what i continued to run into. So I knew what needed to be done. I opened up, EASE US Partition Master free version, and proceeded to reformat the entire hard disc drive by wiped the second partition and merged it all into a single partition under NTFS first. Then I wiped the NTFS partition and reformatted that into FAT32. Since I've done this, I now have a full terabyte being used as internal storage.

It is fast and well worth the money. I would recommend this

I purchased this drive (by mistake) to backup my MacBook Pro. It came pre-formatted for a windows based computer. However in a mater of minutes I was able to get it re-formatted to use as an external drive on my Mac.

Great product. Very easy to "plug-n-play" with my xbox one.

Bought this to recover several PC's after getting the locky virus and it worked great! Was able to gather data from all effected PC's and reconstruct 99% of the data that was potentially lost. Fast and reliable.

I use it to back up my desktop periodically. Easy to use with included WD backup software. Small enough to carry in my briefcase when I go to work, so it is physically in different location from home computer.

This little backup device is less expensive than I expected, and works well. Using it is not entirely intuitive, and I needed to call WD support - but they were great, and as I understand it support is now available indefinitely - not just for a month or a year. Before you call them, make a note of the device's model number and serial number - which are on the device. After a little instruction, the device is easy to use. To save your Outlook Contacts, though, you have to take the precaution of saving them to a file. Then the WD device will back that file up. As I understand it, creating that contacts file is not something that happens automatically in Outlook. That is not WD's fault - it's just the way Outlook works. Yes, I'd recommend this product.

Initially was going to buy a 128gb flash drive, but it wasn't much more for this 1TB drive. Lots more capacity and the USB 3.0 makes it fast. Plug in and use it. Couldn't be simpler. Use it for back up to large files.

This is my second USB external hard drive from Passport. The first one is as great as day I purchased it 4 yrs ago. I love this new one. Has 2x storage as my first one. Bought on sale at great price. Love my Best Buy

Good buy I would recommend this to somebody that needs one

I could back up all my laptop in it and while in repair, I could work with big excel spread sheets from "my passport" directly. Never had a problem. Great size for the hand and pocket. Big enough not to lose it.
