I bought this as a backup option for my files and media. Works great, USB 3, transfer speed as fast as 100 MB per second. Enough for me.

Just plug it in and you're all set. Compatible with Mac but needs reformatting, which is still rather simple. No issues with mine to date.

I love the size and capacity of this hard drive. I use it as a storage device for traveling and it maintaining a copy of important documents.

It was very seamless to pair and use and transfer files. It has made it much easier to transfer data to other units as well i.e. large files.

I had a 1 TB back-up hard drive but when I did the Windows upgrade from Windows 7 to 10 I could not use it. Windows 10 said it was incompatible. And of course Seagate had no fix and did not care. They got your money and that is all they cared about. I went to Best Buy because the sales personnel will give you the best advice their technical ability will give you. I asked for a portable hard drive that would back-up Windows 10 data. I was given advice on a couple of hard drives and I picked the Passport Ultra. It works great!!!!!!

More secure than flash drives. Best external storage device for vital records, college research papers, and banking records.

I had already bought one for myself so when my wife ask for one i knew where to go. Plenty of space. I would recommend this unit to anybody.

Nice external hard disk drive that does its job. You can use in both Windows and Mac, however, for Mac, you have to format before using.
