I use several of these as a second target (redundant) back up location for image back ups of production servers. File back up solutions over LAN had proven faulty due to windows permission errors. These have proven totally reliable and have come into play twice already. A proven excellent investment for a major customer!

I was somewhat skeptical prior to buying this hard drive, but was convinced in the store by a great sales person to give it a try, with an explanation of its features and benefits. It turned out that the sales person was correct...easy to use, fast, great.

The WD Passport Ultra drive was priced right and provides speedy backup and storage when used with a USB 3.0 port. 1gb may not sound like a lot, but this is more than adequate for keeping a current image of my laptop's drive as well as backing up important files, pics, etc. I like that this comes with encryption software.

This is the first time I have ever used an external harddrive. I wanted something to save personal files to, so I could elimate my desktop computer.I wanted to give the computer to grandchildren to play games on. I also had just bought a new laptop. This worked great for moving my personal files to. I really like this.

I have this drive hooked up to my mac and backing up the computer using time machine. I reformatted it for mac (as it came formatted for a PC). It was easy to format and set up quickly. It is powered via usb, so it limits the cables laying around. It is my second WD external drive, and I am happy with them both.

If you are looking for extra storage or just want to back up files from various devices, this is an investment. You can plug the device into your computer and copy files onto it. It is lightweight and not bulky. There is no case that comes with the device. I purchased the drive during the holiday season as a gift, so I got it for nearly $50. It is perfect for storing pictures, music, files, etc. It is good to back up files because devices may fail and having a backup could save time and money. On a side note, I would perfect to keep an external hard drive in another place/location, just to ensure that the files will be preserved. I hope this helps.

BB had a sale on these, so I bought one. Never had a SS portable before. Hooked it up and it worked fine. Tried it on another computer and it worked fine again. I used it to migrate data from an old computer to a new one and it was quick and easy. This is a handy little gadget that was easy to set up.

This is the best quality and easy to use external hard drive. It is very user friendly and stores a large amount of data. I would highly recommend purchasing this Wd My Passport Ultra.

My computer had not been backed up in almost a year because I didn't have a big enough drive so off to Best Buy to find one. Picked up this little gem on sale and had my computer backed up in no time. These are great little drive to have and this one is big enough to use for both laptops at the house!
