I have this drive hooked up to my mac and backing up the computer using time machine. I reformatted it for mac (as it came formatted for a PC). It was easy to format and set up quickly. It is powered via usb, so it limits the cables laying around. It is my second WD external drive, and I am happy with them both.

Easy to connect to my PC, couldn't believe after all the pictures I put on it there was still plenty of room!

If you are looking for extra storage or just want to back up files from various devices, this is an investment. You can plug the device into your computer and copy files onto it. It is lightweight and not bulky. There is no case that comes with the device. I purchased the drive during the holiday season as a gift, so I got it for nearly $50. It is perfect for storing pictures, music, files, etc. It is good to back up files because devices may fail and having a backup could save time and money. On a side note, I would perfect to keep an external hard drive in another place/location, just to ensure that the files will be preserved. I hope this helps.

BB had a sale on these, so I bought one. Never had a SS portable before. Hooked it up and it worked fine. Tried it on another computer and it worked fine again. I used it to migrate data from an old computer to a new one and it was quick and easy. This is a handy little gadget that was easy to set up.

My computer had not been backed up in almost a year because I didn't have a big enough drive so off to Best Buy to find one. Picked up this little gem on sale and had my computer backed up in no time. These are great little drive to have and this one is big enough to use for both laptops at the house!

I bought this to install on my moms older computer, she suddenly has a fear of hard drive failure and losing all her images she has collected over the years. Install this to give her peace of mind knowing they are all backed up to a second location. Installed easily, and the software is easy to use.

had for a week, working good used in a surveillance system enough storage for my needs price was ok.

I had overloaded my PC with video and music files, making it quit working, but I was able to offload all my important files onto this handy little drive unit, and now I can spread those videos, pictures, and music files into my other computers. Great storage capacity for a very reasonable price!

Great external hard drive that you could get. Its light weight, easy to carry and price is reasonable.

I have bought three of these now and they are great USB drives. Small, fairly rugged and quick, especially on USB 3.0. I had one cable become flakey due to excessive use/bending, but that is a user issue - they are quite sturdy.

I am so glad I purchased this hard drive. I only wished that I had bought it earlier. I had been using my SD card and was frequently having to delete shows in order to put more on it. With my hard drive, I have many movies, documentaries and TV shows and still have 3/4 of space available!!!!

I was very pleased in buying an External USB. I needed it to import from my husband computer, which was closed. Now I have all our photos into my lap top. In the process I have discovered that I can add to this USB all my information that I have...just in case... something happen to my lap top. I have enough space to accomplish it. I think it is A MUST for anyone who wants to make sure that all that you have in your computer is double secure. And I do have Carbonite! But now, with this USB, I have all secure!

I NEEDED A PORTBLE HARD DRIVE AND SEARCH ONLINE FOR A GOOD DEAL AND I SAW THIS DEAL FROM BEST BUY AND ORDERED ONLINE AND PICK IT UP AT THE STORE. ITS WORKS GREAT AND IT IS VERY LIGHT AND PORTABLE. I RECOMMEND THIS PORTABLE HARD DRIVE FOR ANYONE INTERESTED IN A LIGHR PORTABLE HARD DRIVE.

1 TB is more than enough space fir the average user. And this provides that at a reasonable price

I haven't used it too much when I first purchased it, but since I added a USB 3.0 PCI card I have been very impressed. I upgraded to Windows 10 and bought this to make a system image backup and it didn't take long at all to back up my machine. So far, it has exceeded my expectations.

I love these external drives. You can't beat the price for storage. Being that they are USB 3.0, they are fast. Very reliable and compatible. I would really recommend it.

This is my third external hard drive in about as many years for business files (we start a new one each year), and another for the home. If the three brands we own, the WD Passport has been the best so far, no problems.

I use these to back up my final video projects. They're a nice inexpensive solution for that.

I am a professional photographer and purchased this drive to download all the photos from my desktop and laptop computers onto one central drive. The passport gives me quick access to my files and freed much needed space on both computers whether in the field or at the shop.

I love the small sleek style of this hard drive. It's perfect for a backpack and on the go.
