This is a great little portable HD. I use it to back up my desktop and Laptop and works flawlessly. It runs very quite and does not need a separate power source.

Stores my music, photos, and Xbox one games on my WD My Passport Ultra 1TB portable hard drive, I like the extra security password protection and 256-bit AES encryption to safeguard my data. WD Backup software also makes it easy to back up my data to the Cloud.

Our built-in HDD's were threatening to die on us, and we needed to backup our photos, vids, etc.. 1tb was a great option for us, only using about 800gb worth at the moment. It's small, quick read/write speeds, and all that we needed to make sure our precious memories are safe. I feel that this was a good purchase all-in-all.

I have always bought all my hdds from WD, they quality is good, and they get the job done. However, always keep a backup of your data in different places, it is to expect a HDD will fail eventually.

I thought I had a lot of storage until I went and downloaded the two Apples I had to back them up. It was easy to hook and didn't have to worry about formatting, it was already ready as promised.

I got this to back up my laptop. It was recognized immediately upon plugging it in and it was very simple to install the backup software and get it going. Also has a 3 year warranty which is (I think) the longest you will find on an item like this.

I purchased the external hard drive for my wife (Christmas present) to save our collection of digital pictures including children, grandchildren and travels. It will also be a great aid in transferring files from older laptop to her new laptop and serve as backup file. Like the compact size and sleek design. These hard drives are great, compact and quick. I use them to store my video at work for archive. They do require formatting for use on a MAC, but that's easy enough to do. I own several my passports, one is my primary storage for my xbox one.
