Purchased this external drive for MacBook Pro. Found out after hours of trying it does not work with macs. If you have a Mac, get the WD that specifically says, "for Macs". They are a good product when you are using the correct one.

Western Digital has always been a very good hard drive. Purchased for my Xbox one, it is worked phenomenally

I keep multiple files and electronic drawings on this hard drive. Easy access to all files and folders

We only use Western Digital HD's for both Apple Time Machine & Windows OS automatic back programs. Although we recommend our clients replace them without question every 3 years, WD has an excellent warranty & service records with us and out of more than 500 purchases, have only had to service 3-5.

I was happy to have the extra storage space, but things are VERY difficult to find once they're on there!

I purchased this for work so that I could carry a large amount of data with me without having to take a huge memory device. It worked perfectly. The only thing I would say is to caution against trying to change between a Mac and PC. It requires reformatting and will erase all data on the device.

I've used the My Passports for several jobs to share files with clients. They have always been reliable.

This is a good priced option. Have had a problem with PC to Mac connection but can reformat is needed.

I use a cloud-based backup service (Mozy) but wanted an external drive back up as well. This is the perfect product (so far, just bought it 2-3 weeks ago.) Also great for storing my iTunes library since the hard drive on my laptop is (intentionally) small -- 60gb. Very happy w/this purchase.

we sue these for low cost storage to send large files between stores and they have performed excellent.

Western Digital has been the standard for compact external hard drives since I can remember. I bought the 1TB version simply to back up my 300GB version of the same, which has been working flawlessly for over 5 years now. The new 1TB version feels a bit less "solid", but works like a charm so far.

We bought this for our son to add storage to his computer, and it worked out just the way it should.

Simple, easy, and reliable. Does exactly what you expected it to do. Too bad it doesn't Wi-Fi stream.

This is the lastest in a series of external drive purchases. The packaging of the drive was secure enough, but yet not too much hassle to remove. The device its self came up and presented its self to windows 10 with much fanfare or trouble. Overall the drive has wored well as a backup drice

This is a good HD to get for the price. I get this quite a bit for pulling data at work. Very reliable

Bought this as a replacement for Seagate 1TB portable drive that was damaged by accident and would no longer power on. This WD drive does not feel cheaply made and transfer speeds are fast with USB 3.0. Can't say much about the software since i do all my backups and transfers manually.

Small enough to carry yet large enough to hold / store things that are of importance to our family.

I plugged it into my old computer and downloaded my stuff and then I can use it on my new computer.
