      The first time I used this drive was to perform a complete backup of my computer. It became very warm to the touch. I called WD and they said it was okay due to the intense use. I now use it to access files or backup individual files and it has not been warm.

      I explained what I needed to the sales associate and that my laptop was six years old and operated on Windows 7. He said no problem and sold me this product, unfortunately it would not sync with my laptop. I need to return it but that can bed such a hassle.
