Customer Ratings & Reviews

I have several external hard drives for backing up several computers plus some dedicated just to photos or music. I have always found WD to be reliable, and the sale price at Best Buy was excellent. I prefer to support my local retail stores whenever possible, and they matched Amazon. Their service is excellent.

I purchased this drive to back up in clone a Mac hard drive as I migrated to a new computer. It's giving me peace of mind to know that I can store my entire hard drive via clone to this drive. I gave my old Mac to my wife and she happily uses it and I know that at any point I can access all the files if I need to.

The item is for my computer, so don't have anything special to say, except it is very useful for what I purchased it for.

Works very well. More than adequate for my computer. Like that it is compact and easy to take with me when I travel.

The HP pavilion was just what we were looking for, we had been watching it and when we went in it was on sale, Perfect!

I read other views before making my purchase. It is easy to use and I had no issues using the item. I highly recommend.

using it for over a month now, no issues, data transfer is very fast, seems very stable and a great value for the price

Large capacity, Great for Genealogy. Easy to use..

I have been using this external hard drive since I purchased it. Great product.

I bought a low cost HP laptop with AMD chip. I need this just for emails, web browsing and playing CD's and DVDs. - no gaming, no streaming, although streaming works well on this computer. Although Windows 10 does not have DVD playing software, HP has Cyberlink Media Player software built in. Being a low cost computer it does not have the multi pin connection for a monitor - however I bought an adapter that uses the HDMI connector. This computer works well for the price.

This drive works quickly when connected to USB 3.0 ports. I copied media from my old drive over to this drive and then connected it to my router to use it as network attached storage. Set up is really straight forward and the size would be convenient if I needed to take it with me. I opted for the 1TB model, but if you plan to save lots of HD or better video files you may want to step up to a larger capacity model. This just fit my needs at a decent price so I went for it.

I chose to get this WD back up external hard drive because one of the employees told me he recommended it! I love it!

easy to use and plenty of space on the 1tb. Its light and easy to travel with. Good security and easy to store.

I have a number of external drives and have found the WD drives to be very good quality. This drive has good performance across a USB 3, and the case seems rugged enough to survive typical traveler usage.

I got the much needed external storage that I needed for a great price. Easy to set-up & move from device to device.

This portable harddrive is my go to for immediate storage. I've probably purchased 3 of them for work at this point. Pros - USB 3.0 Speed, small size, nice sleek compact case, All in one USB 3.0 cable Cons - Included cable is too short, no rubber feet to keep it from sliding off the desk if there is tension on the cable As you can see, not too many complaints. I'll probably start buying the 2tb version soon, but for now I have a fleet of these in service.

This is the third WD passport external hard drive I have purchased for my computers. These hard drives work silently and effectively with no problems.

My wife really likes this we use it to back up the millions of photos we have

i had one similar to this before but the connection point failed and would only work when i held it in, hopefully the same doesn't happen to this one.

I use this to keep a back and love this little drive. Just connect it using supplied usb cable and works perfect.
