Customer Ratings & Reviews

I had a WD external drive for backup some years ago and thought that this drive would operate similarly, but it is a little less intuitive to operate. I'm using it to backup my personal computer that has over 600 GB memory used but when I selected the "C" drive to be backed up, I got the message that there was insufficient space. I had to select fewer folders in order to get the backup of 250 GB to begin. I haven't yet figured out how to view how many gigabytes the backup takes on the WD drive. I have gotten it to backup on a regular basis, but it takes close to 12 hours to complete the backup each time. Overall, I am satisfied with having a backup of my most critical files, but I will have to review the operating manual to get more out of this backup drive.

My laptop crashed and the Best Buy representative recommended backing up files to a USB Hard Drive while it was being serviced. Great suggestion to stay on the safe side!

I've just started using the hard drive. Easy to use. Sharp color. Small, manageable size.

It's small and works great! Better storage for the price compared to other external drives

Does well when transporting and traveling but more storage my desktop! Fast transfer rate.

This drive is small in size but large in capacity. Great for backups and storing photos.

Carry in the pocket or case. Enough room to download pictures, music and other documents.

I love these portable drives. Remember when 1T was huge. Now they are so compact and fit in my laptop bag no problem. Price was consistent with everywhere I looked.

Only problem that I have had is that it sometimes becomes unresponsive on my Windows 10 system if I haven't accessed it for a while. As I am presently using it as a location for my system image backup and weekly system backups, this has not been a significant issue for me.

It's easy to use once you Convert it and restart the system. It's very secure. Which was a feature I didn't care too much for. Buy if you want security then it's very nice

Using this to back up a laptop. Works great. Price was crazy good for that much storage!

Easy to start using right away. Great price and great way to storage all your old photos.

This was the answer to all of my back-up problems. Small, lightweight and easy to use.

Very handy and portable. If you was something good with look and performance go for this

Besides a portable external hard drive being great insurance for photo files and other personal files that should not be kept in only one place, it also allows clearance of space on the internal hard drive. This is particularly useful with photos that take up so much space. This particular external drive is also much smaller than I expected, so very useful to carry along on trips.

I have been very pleased with the added speed of my backups due to the USB 3.0 capability. I was used to long backup sessions and now the sessions are hardly noticeable.

I liked the fact that it was tiny, black and a low price for a high volume of storage.

Small, quiet, works on both PC and Mac if formatted to FAT. Would recommend to anyone!

This is a compactcompact and nice hard drive. The price was great and works perfectly.

Works great, will buy more. Perfect for holding pictures, movies, files. Love this!
