I purchased this to act as a backup and to keep an image of my system to restore to. The drive is awesome, very fast and very quiet. It does not get too hot and is perfect for toting around if you need to. Since purchasing this I've used this as a partitioned drive to back up to and to store images on. I've restored two systems and each time without fail or complications. The drive is worth this price!

High quality drive at a great sale price. WD is one of the top name brands for external hard drives, and this one is no different. I bought this for my Microsoft Surface to give me more room to hold virtual machines, etc, and it connects flawlessly and transfers data at high speeds. There's no sitting and waiting on this device. Highly recommended. And, if you find one on sale, that's even better!

I have owned several of these and had very good luck with them. The don't require a separate power cable and fit in a pocket. Too bad Western Digital changed the design.
