This is my 2nd 3 terabyte unit. I have had other brands, some are slow and some start to click, prior to the warranty period. Unfortunately, if you have sensitive information a drive, you may not want to send it in for repair. My best quality is with WD.

I've been using a number of My Passport Ultra 2TB External USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drives for the past year and grabbed this 3TB My Passport when it had a sale price. It is very nice to have this much capacity in a WD My Passport external hard drive.

I got this as a portable alternative to lugging my Apple time capsule everywhere I travel. It's unbelievable light and small - and WICKED fast. Not to mention, compared to other hard drives I've used, integrates seamlessly across all my computers.

I bought this because we were moving and I wanted to save documents from my computer to have readily available. I saved almost everything from my computer and haven't made a dent into the memory. It's light and compact. I would definitely buy again.

Bad: I've had problems before with an unreliable WD USB external drive. This drive is paired with another back-up drive (different brand) "just in case". Good: Good price. Large capacity, fast, and I've had had no problems with this drive.

These drives work well. I was able to backup my photos library of 100+ GB from one '3TB my passport ultra' to the other one at the rate of 90MB per second (both were attached to my computer with a USB3 connection) I'm very pleased so far!
