I run a micro business with my husband. This means he does the labor, and I do everything else. It's not as glamorous as it sounds. It's a lot of work and I wear out a lot of computers. They like to give me fits while I do our taxes. How convenient. NOT! A few years back, I began using external hard drives. They keep getting better. My son, a videographer, turned me on to these. If they can tolerate what he loaded, ours would be easy peazy. The one I'm using now I have been loading for the last 2 years. I backed up some of our old stuff because I have old externals that stopped working. I am also a photographer. These reliably hold what I need for our business, and what I love for me. I highly recommend them. You won't regret it. I would like to add one more thing. I have 4 TB on the one I'm using, and I bought a backup. Still insecure. I remember paying over $100 for my tech-savvy son while he was still in high school. It had MB. I paid almost the same price for 4 T.B., maybe less. When you buy this, think about that and revel in the great bargain you are getting.

I had no fails and it's amazing hold a lot of stuff that I wasn't able to safe before and I even downloaded some games inside of it and it runs great without a problem

It's a very neat little hard drive that is easy to take anywhere you go with your laptop. USB-C connectivity is future proof, and it also comes with a little USB-C to USB-A type adapter just in case you ever need to plug it into the older system. Included USB-C cable is about 1' long. Hard drive is labeled as 4Tb but the exact capacity is 4,000,750,497,792 byes or about 3.63Tb as it came in from the factory (NTFS formatted). Hard drive works fine with either Mac and PC, performance is about 115Mb/s writes, 120Mb/s reads. Hard drive comes with a Wester Digital Discovery tool that has software for drive diagnostic. Activity LED light on the drive itself could be disabled in the software if needed. Overall - it performed real well in all my tests and I would recommend it to anyone needing some extra portable storage.

Excellent purchase to distance myself from a moving disk for an external backup drive; no moving parts; can go anywhere without risk of damage to a disk drive.

I like that it is so small and efficient that it is self-powered off the computer. Lots of storage space! It'll be a while before I fill this up. :)

I’ve bought well over 50 of these and they’re the best! So reliable and consistent. Love that Best Buy has them and they’re easy to grab day of if I need to!

So far Im loving this incased laptop 4gb hard drive from WD. I this connected to my Linksys routers usb 3.0 port and using it as a NAS. Easy to share pictures, videos, and movies accross your network. This drive was plug n play, no software to install. Just plug it into a compatible router or laptop pc, and your good to go. The usb-C connector makes for faster transfer and read speeds for sure. Luckily I had a 6ft long usb C cable laying around, as the included cable is about 18" long.

My passport ultra 4T from WD, this is good portable drive, i also own a 1T that is almost full that is why i bought the 4T to backup all my files from the 1T & to have additional spaces. I never had any issue with my passport ultra, they are fast when transferring data & easy to use. So far so good w/ the 4T, i specifically like the metal case frame on the 4 T, they only thing i am not a big fan is installing the WD software on my PC. It's a great portable drive based on past experience they are very reliable, i hope the 4T will be as good as the 1T & the 250G i owned for quite some time.

4 terabytes of storage in a well-built enclosure, and it's one of a small number of external hard drives with a USB-C connection that didn't cost an arm and a leg. Works like any other external hard drive, albeit well-made and compatible with the new crop of laptops that sometimes only have a type-C connector.

I have a number of these little drives. They are reliable, easy to reformat if I’m going from PC to Mac and compact to take from home to my office.

I purchased this hard drive for my wife to match her keyboard. I was very pleased with the value that I received for this product. In addition, the password protection and data encryption were also deciding factors for my purchase. My wife hasn't used it yet, but she has plenty of space once she does. I would be more than happy to purchase another one if she needs it down the road. I was so pleased with my purchase that I purchased a different hard drive for myself later in the day. I'll be doing that review shortly. As always, the curbside pickup experience was excellent. On a side note, I do not remember hard drives being this small. This is typical in today's society. Everything is getting more compact. I do like the small size of the hard drive as it takes up very little space.

This drive is amazing, fast and very reliable so far. It has been very easy to use and transfer photos, and valuable documents. It was simple for me to back up all my devices and laptop. I just love this drive for my back up needs.

I have used WD My passport previously as well. It is very reliable external hard drive. Just a bit expensive
