Due to Type-C to Type-C transfer, its really fast to transfer data to this external hard drive. Happy with the product. Only drawback which i notice is the type-c cable which provided with this product is very tight for my mac book pro type c.

This works well. Has been reliable compared to Seagate drives. Fast for non-SSD and quiet. Would buy again if needed.

I really babied this drive - I never moved it while it was plugged in, I never dropped it or damaged it in any way... Then one day, it just stopped mounting to my computer. Now I face a $1500 data recovery bill at minimum if I want video of my dead friend back.

Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This particular drive started out awesome, then it started getting hot and making a funny noise during use, It lasted almost a year before taking a considerable amount of time to pull data from the drive. In fear it was going to fail permanently, I made haste at pulling all my data off and using a replacement drive. I have used WD products for many years and this is the second time I have had a potential crash problem, so I think it is possibly a fluke.

Very easy to install and format. The format took all of 10 seconds to format a 4 TB drive. I remember the days when it took several hours to format a hard drive.

It uses the newer USB 3.0 cable but comes with an adapter for older USB plugs, so it can be used with any computer.
