This is pretty goo portable hard drive so far. The only thing I wish was better was that sometimes the USB cable comes out and is a little loose. The fit needs to be a little more snug.

I don't understand why it has dates on it before I purchased and set up. If fact I am not sure if it is doing it job properly. I set it up to back up daily and I am not sure if it is doing that as well. E-mailed WD and now I guess I have to call tech support. When I find out all the information I will let you know again. I thought it would be just plug in after a brief set up but it was more complicated than that. I read all the review and all were great. I am just wondering if I purchased a defect one or not?

You will not regret buying this product. I would like to commend first the appearance, its just elegant and so nice. Then, I can store my private data and protect it with password. I can now store a lot of movies, musics, memorable pictures and different files in my hard drive.

This was one of those impulse buys I couldn't resist when it was on sale. I needed a USB3 hard drive for my Xbox One, to allow me to offload some games from internal storage. Plugged it into the Xbox, formatted the drive, and I was in business. The drive is fast, too.

I am very pleased with the size and performance of the Western Digital USB disk drive. It's relatively lightweight, so I am able to carry it with me on getaways.

Have been using Toshiba external hard drives but have had two of them die after only one year of use. Decided to try a WD drive and have been happy so far with its performance. Am using it for backing up my documents and pictures. So far no issues.

Plugs in and works with no problems. High quality and takes up very little space.
