Took longer to load. Had to go thru customer support for assistance. Once loaded it works fine. Could be easier to drop and drag but it works and saves files.

the external hard drive was not recognized on one of the computers that I wanted to transfer data from. It worked on one but not on the older computer.

I had a little difficultly, at first, installing it but after disabling my firewall, it was an easy installation. Does it's job.

I did not realize that Apple is not compatible with the drive I bought. this has caused difficulties: especially with Time Machine. I called your geek squad. Basically they said: apple's problem not ours. I still have not resolved the problem. After geeks where do you turn! The external drive works but I have to shut down the computer every time, instead of just put it to sleep.

Salesperson said this could easily be re-formatted for a MAC! NO, it didn't work & wasted loads of time!

Need to learn a program. Only good for backing up data. Not a typical storage device.

I really do not know if this is working or not. I am still on the fence.

Item not compatible with PS4 therefore returned with no issues!

They are okay. They get the job done, however they keep breaking on me. This is the third one we've bought. My latest one has a hard time backing up my pc. It would for my laptop, but my desktop it won't complete the backup. Also, takes forever to load.

Was not easy to hook up. There seems to be a problem with Windows 10. My IT guy had to help. Just to be fair, I am not geek savy. However, I did expect to be able to plug and play.

I have to seriously think and look for something different when i need a new one.

I've had multiple WD external hard drives over the years, including a slightly older Passport. They are compact, portable, and work GREAT! I bought this one for my sister-in-law and it also worked great. The only caveat is that they come pre-formatted to PCs, so if you use a Mac, you have to format it to Mac first before you can use it. Small price to pay, as I always back up important data to my Passport.

This Metal Edition keeps failing for some reason. I returned it to WD, but the replacement also subsequently failed. I always buy WD hard drives (much better than Seagate IMHO), but advise staying away from this "Metal Edition"

I bought this at Best Buy's and had problems installing it. I called tech support at WD and they said it was defective but could not help me. They told me I would have to send it to them to get help. Terrible.I will never buy WD products again after that experience

After going through the drudgery of formatting, the drive still didn't work. When that happens, that's a signal, in my opinion, that it's too complicated for its own good.

If you want to be typing your password every 5 seconds this is the product for you but if you want simplicity and easy of use stay far away

I used this to back up my files since May. Now I'm not able to access them with the beginning of school coming up. Very disappointed!
