Traditional hard drive warranties have been shrinking over the past decade. Good ones used to offer 5 yr warranties, now it seems 3 yrs is the longest with the majority only 1 yr. This drive offers 3 yr warranty and for 2TB size the cost is reasonably low.

This drive is a perfect bang for your buck. I purchase these all of the time for photo and video storage.

Fits all of my needs including portability. This thing looks sleek with the aluminum housing.

I use steam and I have two computers I didn't want to wait for all my games to re-download over the Internet so I put them on the passport and transferred them over. Download speeds are fair but most of my games are at least 15 GB so it took around 15-30 mins

It's an external HDD so there's nothing too flashy about it. I use it to back up critical documents. Transfer rates seem pretty good. Not as fast as a SSD, but I don't need that for backup storage purposes. It works and that's all I really care about.

did not work with my new Netgear Nighthawk ac 1900 router. I tried setting it up via the "readyCloud" but it was never detected online. Geeksquad spent an hour going through my network, verified it was running correctly and visible locally, just would not show up over the internet. Returned it for a MyCloud device, to better suit my needs. I still would recommend this to someone that is looking for a portable hard drive.

This works very well for the all the storage need. For all the church stuff that I use.

Works fine just like most portable hard drives these days. Up to you if the extra $10 for premium alluminum case is worth it. I personally have gone back to WD hard drives over Seagate after to many problems with Seagate drives.

WD 2tb drive works as it should and has the capacity to back up my computer hard drive with plenty of space for multiple backups Metal enclosure helps dissapate heat. I would recommend this to other buyers

This isn't the first time I bought WD. I've been very happy with this brand over the years. HDD never failed me prematurely. I think their desktop software is also great. You get firmware updates if there are any.

I needed a external drive that would take a bit of a “beating” as I carry it around in my computer backpack every single day for work. Seemed to be the most durable, maybe it’s just the stainless!

Recently purchased backup drive. Easy to use and recognizeable

The symbolic install instructions from the box were cryptic and the support web site given could not be reached. Found the user manual already loaded on the drive, but the install instructions didn't match the install wizard. Expected faster back ups with the 3.0 USB, but seems about the same as burning a CD. Expected more flexibility for scheduling backups.

This external hard drive is in a solid aluminum casing with a stylish brushed metal finish. Usb 3 speeds allowed me to back up my entire 2 terabyte hdd in only 3 hours. This drive is definitely built to last.
