I remember the days when WD Black drives were Western Digital's "Performance" drives. Although I didn't buy this to be a "game drive" as marketed, but rather just a file backup drive, I figured this was a bit more than just WDs cheapest 2.5" HD in a nice enclosure. That was not the case. I'm getting read/write speeds of about 80-100MB/s, which is far below today's standard for 2.5" drives. I was expecting something between 125-150. Very Disappointing. Don't buy these! Get an easystore or seagate expansion instead!

Drive does not disassemble to make an internal drive but works very fast even as an external for my PS4. Would buy again as an external.

I use this for storing photos and video files. I've been able to edit short IG videos straight from here. I love the fact it does not need an extra power supply. It was hard to determine if this model was superior to the other WD external drives. I pretty much bought this because the case looks cool.

Verly useful to always have plenty of storage for all games so when playing them my space wont run out. Even if i buy more games i will always have needed space for them highly recommended for beginners or other hard-core gamers out there you be thankful you did

Great looking and super simple set-up make this a great external drive option for your Xbox. I purchased this along with an Xbox One X. It's a bit smaller than a standard PC hard drive and I really like the sleek black "militaristic" look of the WD-Black. I would not hesitate to purchase another.

Pretty solid, I like how this thing works and is similar to those Lacie drives. It does the job but I wish it came with a usbc cord instead of usb. Other than that it's great for backing work. I ended up buying a rubber case for it though because Im positive this is not drop proof.

ive saved my whole steam collection in this drive and there is room to spare it has minimal effect on performance and game play load time is just a few secs longer. this is a great drive and uses usb to power so you don't need an electrical outlet for it which is a big deal to me.

It’s great for the short term but after a few months I’ve noticed it’ll get real warm and recently for the past month it’ll make a weird loud noise to the point I had to raise the volume while playing games. Manage to put up with the heating up and loud noice until it stopped getting recognized. I could no longer use it. Got a years worth out of it but compare to my $45 1tb seagate hard drive. This one wasn’t so good. This WD hard drive actually downloaded games slower and it’s meant to be for gaming? My other cheaper 1tb hard drive still going strong and quite as always. I’ll now have to look for a replacement for my 4tb drive and not sure if I’ll give Western Digital another chance.

Using for multi-track audio recording. Drive is fast enough and so far is trouble free, but I've only been using it a month.

It’s currently storing all of my PS4 data on my PS5 which is a lot because Destiny is one of the games.

Bought for my OG Xbox one to expand storage. Great value on Black Friday at $99 for 4TB. It’s slower than an SSD but also a third of the cost. The BLACK housing means it’s more durable if it gets banged around. Worked like a charm right out the box.

This external storage is perfect for playstation consoles, it keeps everything safe and doesn’t glitch or lose data or anything. I love it !

Connected to both my pc and a mac. Transfered data quickly.
