    I would never use an antivirus. It has been proven many times that the current antivirus built into Windows and macOS is extremely sufficient as long as you are not going to shady sites. But even then, it has been proven that these antivirus software programs miss more than the built-in ones, and they tend to hog resources on your system. I didn't use it since this was a free item with my monitor.

    Always end up with these types of `free` items and then nagging emails constantly. Your mileage may vary. I've been a professional programmer for over 4 decades, and these types of programs do more harm than good. Your mileage may vary, but I never recommend these things to Mac owners. If you're on a PC, well, that's a different issue altogether.
