Webroot is able to be transferred to another computer completely free of charge if you have a valid license.
You simply need to navigate to http://www.webroot.com/us/en/products/wsa-installer-download and select the product you have and download it. Once this is done you will need to open the program and then be prompted for you keycode. Are you sure the company you spoke with was not a third party group, as that price is really high for a year of Webroot?
