We use Norton at home (and I have enough service to have added his device) and my son's college provides McAfee. I wanted to purchase the Geek Squad service plan in the event something happened to my son's computer while he was at school and this was bundled into that purchase. It was explained to me that the bundle cost less than the GS service plan by itself. This was almost explained to me after-the-fact as the cashier just added it. Not sold on it, Geek Squad installed it, not sure we'll use it as one only security software is recommended. I'm guessing his school's tech support will use their own McAfee.

Although security software companies have, traditionally, advised against running multiple antivirus programs on the same computer, this rule does not hold true for Webroot SecureAnywhere. The reason for such recommendations involved the way traditional antivirus programs run. SecureAnywhere is different.
SecureAnywhere does not rely on the customary system of definition sets to make determinations. Instead, this new program examines file behavior and system interaction closely to determine if files are malicious or not. Only files that present risk are examined.
