Webroot doesn't do that; and it's faster. Of course, it's not free. So far, I've had no issues with viruses or malware.

You upload on your computer and it has several different functions to allow you to see the "health" of your computer. You can also download it on your phone for added protection.

runs seamless in background

When the Kaspersky scan was in operation, you really couldn't use the computer as operations became so slow that you just got errors all the time. But not with the Webroot. I like it much better.
