    I don't know enough about virus checkers, but I do know that without it my husband kept installing free checkers that didn't seem to cover a wide variety of problems. When I had Webroot on my old machine, I had no problems. When I allowed it to expire, I had all kinds of problems. Nothing my husband found did it all. I think at one point I had 4 checkers on my system and still became infected. When I purchased my new machine, I didn't hesitate to purchase and install Webroot.

    Don't like having to pay to renew / update - but that's the nature of the beast. Got locked in a loop from some website that kept not letting me get out, not sure what the deal was, but eventually I just did a hard shutdown and ran the scan after rebooting and everything was fine. It has stopped viruses and seems easy to use.
