If you forget to run a scan Webroot will do it for you. We have not had any issues with computer viruses thanks to Webroot.

I wish they wouldn't have wasted their time as I dropped it in the garbage as I left Best Buy. If you understand basic security features with your OS and internet browers you shouldn't need anything like this. In fact adding additional "security" software on top of your existing security just seems to add additional complexity and potential holes. In my opinion skip it, they are just after 1 year subscription money...

We are sorry to hear that you will not be using Webroot in the future.
The assumption that understanding basic OS security and internet browsers is incorrect though. There are many vulnerabilities, particularly in the recent months that allow an attacker to load malware on to your system unbeknownst to you. We would never advise any one to run without some form of antivirus on their system and any security expert would agree.

We apologize for the issue you are experiencing.
You can ensure that Webroot is running by locating the Webroot icon in the system tray.
If you double-click that icon you can open Webroot and see how many scans have been run, last scan duration, etc.
Webroot will not bother you or popup on your system until a threat is identified.
