Webroot does not remove adware from your computer because adware is not malicious. Adware is installed by user consent with user permission and can usually be removed from the control panel. If you believe you are infected, please reach out to Geek Squad or our support team.

Brought back to store to replace and given a hard time by the clerk. Customer service was unprofessional and not apologetic.

Did I mention that I never installed this; it is still in the wrapper.....smells like spyware to me.

Posted .Geek Squad may have installed the software when you purchased the computer. It does not require the CD to install and the subscription starts once purchased at Best Buy. I have included a link to help you uninstall it or you can use the link to open a support ticket where our technicians will take care of everything free of charge.

From all of my time in support I have never seen Webroot wipe a hard drive. Did you try to secure erase the hard drive on your computer? It sounds like the system may have had existing hard drive issues, or perhaps this is something to do with a virus.
